Community Impact: The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana is an independent voice offering solutions to crucial issues for the betterment of our state. PAR recognizes that Louisiana lags behind both national and regional averages for teacher pay and suffers from a shortage of certified teachers. PAR will review the current pay schedule methodology by reviewing examples from a variety of local and statewide school districts and charter schools. Additionally, they will review best practices in other states and publish a list of potential policies that raise teacher compensation with a focus on promoting excellence and improving outcomes.
