Baton Rouge Alliance for Students Announces Education As A Civil Right

A Community conversation exploring the history and educational landscape of Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA – The Baton Rouge Alliance for Students will host the 4th annual Education As A Civil Right event on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The convening will include a day of programming with sessions led by local and national experts sharing perspectives on how cities can better deliver on the promise of education.

In addition to a morning of panel discussions and speakers, there will be a bus tour of the historically significant Old South Baton Rouge. The day’s activities will conclude with an evening cocktail reception.

“I believe that each of us has a purpose, and that the goal of education is to equip us with the tools to unlock the unique gifts we have to share with the world. At Education As A Civil Right, we want to explore the barriers to education as a pathway to a life of opportunity so many in our community experience,” Adonica Pelichet Duggan, CEO of Baton Rouge Alliance for Students.

Education As A Civil Right will take place at the Capitol Park Museum in downtown Baton Rouge. The event is open to the public and free to attend. To register and receive updates on this event’s speakers and sessions, visit EACR2023.eventbrite.com
