$100,000 Awarded for Community Building

(BATON ROUGE, LA) – The Baton Rouge Alliance for Students announced Monday the awarding of $100,000 in Community Building investments. The grants are designed to provide organizations with the resources to expand their reach and impact ahead of their work for next year. Grant awards ranged from $5,000 – $25,000 to support their work or the applicant organizations in building positive community change and advancing the quality of life for Baton Rouge students and their families. The selected grant recipients are:

Baton Rouge Youth Coalition, Inc. – $25,000
The BRidge Agency Inc. – $5,000
Girls on the Run South Louisiana – $5,000
The Langston Galloway Foundation – $10,000
Power Pump Girls, Inc. – $10,000
Redstick C.A.R.E.S. – $10,000
The Walls Project – $25,000
Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge – $10,000

This year’s grant recipients were selected based on their work in Alliance community priority areas of equity, student development, leadership development, and youth empowerment. Grantees were also chosen for their ability to encourage the development of community advocacy and offer out-of-school learning experiences.
