“CHANGEMAKERS gathers a diverse set of community leaders to address challenges facing public education in Baton Rouge,” said Adonica Pelichet Duggan, CEO of the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students. “The program is designed for individuals committed to ensuring our city provides an outstanding education for every student in Baton Rouge.”
The program spans 10 months and equips participants with the essential knowledge and civic strategies to tackle educational challenges and collaborate to create outstanding opportunities for all students in Baton Rouge. Class members enhance their understanding of the education ecosystem and learn about past, present, and future actions that influence education in our city. The program includes interactive discussion sessions, school visits, conversations with key education figures, and other activities.
“CHANGEMAKERS is more than a leadership program; it is a call to be informed, engaged, and active in advancing educational opportunities for every child in Baton Rouge,” said Sinella Aghasi, alumna of the program and recipient of the 2025 CHANGEMAKER of the Year award. “Not only did my experience in this program empower me to be an advocate for education, but it also introduced me to other Baton Rouge leaders who share a similar vision for the future of this great city.”
