“The Alliance awards Community Building Grants as a recognition that our work is best done in service to and partnership with the community,” said Adonica Pelichet Duggan, CEO of the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students. “Supporting organizations and initiatives providing direct service to young people and their families allows more students to show up to school ready to learn and contributes to a vibrant and thriving city.” The Community Building Grants program is part of the Alliance’s broader commitment to ensuring students have the support they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. By investing in organizations working directly in Baton Rouge communities, the Alliance helps strengthen the network of services and opportunities available to young people while elevating family and community voices in the future of public education, ultimately  resulting in increased access to a high-quality education for every child in Baton Rouge.
