BATON ROUGE, LA– The Baton Rouge Alliance for Students has opened applications for its 2022-23 class of education CHANGEMAKERS. Participants are selected from across Baton Rouge’s corporate, nonprofit, and public sector leaders focused on exploring the challenges of improving education in the Baton Rouge community.

The deadline for CHANGEMAKERS applications will be August 8th, with an announcement of the new cohort on August 15, 2022.  To apply, visit BRAlliance.org/CHANGE.

“CHANGEMAKERS is designed to engage a diverse group of community leaders in the issues facing public education in Baton Rouge,” said Adonica Pelichet Duggan, CEO of the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students. “We look for individuals who are committed to a shared vision of an excellent education for every Baton Rouge student and who are ready to find their role in achieving that goal.”

The eight-month program provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to address education issues and to work together for excellent schools for all Baton Rouge area students.  Class members will deepen their understanding of the education ecosystem through exposure to current and future issues impacting education in our city. The program includes discussion sessions, school tours, and other activities.

“Participating in the CHANGEMAKERS Cohort has changed my entire outlook on education advocacy,” said 2020 CHANGEMAKER Sherin Dawud, CEO of Nura Co.
