Dr. Juan Guevara Pinto is a researcher, educator, and leader dedicated to improving educational outcomes through data, collaboration, and evidence-based decision making. He currently serves as Director of Evaluation and Research at The Center for Literacy & Learning, where he leads efforts to measure program impact, strengthen organizational strategy, and help ensure that educational initiatives across Louisiana are guided by meaningful data and continuous improvement.

With more than a decade of experience studying human behavior, cognition, and learning, Dr. Guevara Pinto brings a unique perspective to educational leadership. His work combines rigorous research with practical application, helping educators, nonprofit organizations, and community partners better understand what works and how to create lasting, system-wide change. His expertise includes program evaluation, data analytics, qualitative and quantitative research, and translating complex findings into accessible reports, presentations, and resources that inform decision-making.

Before joining The Center for Literacy & Learning, Dr. Guevara Pinto served as Assistant Professor of Psychology at Rollins College, where he taught undergraduate and graduate students, conducted research on cognition and consciousness, published in peer-reviewed journals, and served as Interim Chair of the Institutional Review Board, helping ensure the ethical conduct of research involving human participants. His passion for teaching and mentorship earned consistently outstanding student evaluations and reflected his commitment to developing the next generation of scholars and professionals.

Dr. Guevara Pinto earned both his Ph.D. in Cognitive and Brain Sciences and his master’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University, following a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia Southern University.
