Cate Willis Richard serves as the Program Director for Girls on the Run South Louisiana, where she leads efforts to expand access to high-quality, evidence-based programming that equips girls with the confidence, skills, and support they need to thrive. Since joining the organization in 2019, she has worked alongside schools, volunteers, and community partners across South Louisiana to ensure more girls have the opportunity to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop leadership skills through the Girls on the Run program.

Before joining the Girls on the Run staff, Cate worked at a Baton Rouge school, where she experienced firsthand the impact of the program as a Girls on the Run coach. Watching girls grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and support one another inspired her to pursue a career with the organization. That experience continues to shape her approach to leadership and her commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for youth.

As Program Director, she oversees program outreach and implementation, coach recruitment and stewardship, school partnerships, and community engagement. She is passionate about making programs accessible to all girls and believes that strong relationships between schools, families, nonprofits, and community leaders are essential to creating lasting change.

Outside of work, Cate enjoys spending time with her husband, Danny, and their one-year-old daughter, Lawrie. Becoming a mother has deepened her appreciation for the importance of investing in children and families and has strengthened her passion for building communities where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Cate is honored to be part of the Baton Rouge CHANGEMAKERS program and looks forward to connecting with leaders who share a commitment to strengthening educational opportunities throughout the region.
