Dr. Christian Vigé is an educator, executive leader, and child welfare advocate committed to strengthening families, transforming systems of care, and improving educational outcomes across Louisiana. He currently serves as Provost of Delta College, where he provides executive leadership for academic affairs, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and student success across a multi-campus higher education system.

Dr. Vigé founded Magnolia Children’s Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reimagining foster care through trauma-informed, family-centered services that strengthen families and improve long-term outcomes for vulnerable children. As Founder and Chief Executive Officer, he leads the development of innovative residential and community-based programs while building partnerships with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to expand capacity and strengthen Louisiana’s child welfare system.

Dr. Vigé is also actively engaged in statewide education, accreditation, child welfare, and public policy leadership. He serves as a Commissioner for the Council on Occupational Education (COE), Chairman of the COE Standards & Conditions Committee, and an institutional accreditation evaluator. His public service includes leadership and appointed positions with the Louisiana Children’s Cabinet, where he serves as Chair of the Family Stability Subcommittee and Co-Chair of the Advisory Board. He also serves on the Louisiana Department of Health Child Death Review Panel, the Board of Capital Area CASA, and as a founding member of the Capital Area Trauma Collaborative.

At the local level, he serves on the East Baton Rouge Truancy Assessment Board, collaborating with education, judicial, social service, and community partners to address chronic absenteeism and connect at-risk children and families with supportive resources. He is also engaged with business, healthcare, arts, and civic organizations throughout the Capital Region, reflecting his commitment to collaborative approaches that strengthen communities.

Beyond his professional and public service, Dr. Vigé has a longstanding passion for music and the arts. He founded the Greater Baton Rouge Children’s Choir and Gathered Voices Choir, creating opportunities for children and adults to experience music while building character, community, and belonging.

His work reflects a belief that meaningful, lasting change occurs when education, government, nonprofits, and communities work together to create stronger systems and brighter futures for children and families.
